1) what is the junglegymhouse all about and where is it located?

its a DIY show space in the west side of buffalo new york.

2)how did you decide to open a space like this?

a bunch of good people needed a space to live so we got a big house!

3)how do you arrange thing in the house?

bands email us all the time about playing, we just collectively decide as a house what shows we are able to do, some of the bands are friends of ours, some not(yet at least) we have the luxury on being particular about what shows to do so its all been great that far.

4)do people support things like this in the buffalo area? are there any other diy-social spaces around?

yah there is a bunch of houses that do shows, its been going on long before our house, people here are generally to poor to afford 10$ shows, plus house shows are more fun and relaxed, we dont even ask for entrance we just ask for donations to support the touring bands. every show has at least one touring band on the line-up.

5)what is the reaction of the neighborhood and the local community. do you try to interact with them at all?

across the street there is a crackhouse so they dont really care and our neighbours have salsa parties until 7am on the regs:p

6)any problems with police, or beaurocracy?

thus far no, but they have other things to deal with i guess, like the before mentioned crackhouses.

7)tell us a bit about settlers and the other bands that play the junglegymhouse. is there a scene or a new scene forming around buffalo?

settlers is my housemate daniel and i, were just starting off really, we made a basement recording of one of the tracks and a video for it but well probably make an EP and then maybe a little tour around the east coast, also theres another housemember chris brown who has a great band called bees.
